3. Mosebok 25,31

29 "'Enhver som selger et hus i en by med murer, beholder retten til innløsning i ett helt år etter salget. I løpet av den tiden kan selgeren innløse det.

30 Hvis det ikke blir innløst før et helt år har gått, skal huset i den murte byen tilhøre kjøperen og deres etterkommere permanent. Det skal ikke returneres i jubelåret.

Men hus i landsbyer uten murer rundt dem skal betraktes som en del av det åpne landet. De kan innløses, og de skal returneres i jubelåret.

32 "'Levittene har den evige retten til å innløse sine hus i de levittiske byene, som de eier.

33 Så levittenes eiendom er innløsbar—det vil si et hus solgt i en hvilken som helst by de holder—og skal returneres i jubelåret, fordi husene i levittenes byer er deres eiendom blant israelittene.
