Leviticus 19:1
Then the LORD said to Moses,
2 “Speak to the whole congregation of Israel and tell them: Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy.
3 Each of you must respect his mother and father, and you must keep My Sabbaths. I am the LORD your God.
This was said to Israel at a particular time, so it is wise to read it together with the surrounding text. Do read the surrounding verses too, because the context often says more than a single verse.
