20 De blant faraos embetsmenn som fryktet Herrens ord, skyndte seg å bringe sine tjenere og sin buskap innendørs.

21 Men de som ignorerte Herrens ord, lot sine tjenere og sin buskap bli på marken.

Da sa Herren til Moses: «Rekk ut hånden din mot himmelen, så hagl vil falle over hele Egypt—på mennesker, dyr og hver plante på markene i Egypt.»

23 Da Moses rakte ut staven sin mot himmelen, sendte Herren torden og hagl, og ild løp ned til jorden. Slik regnet Herren hagl over Egypts land.

24 Det var hagl, og ild blinket kontinuerlig midt i haglet, den verste stormen Egypt hadde vært vitne til siden det ble en nasjon.
