7 Han tok seks hundre utvalgte vogner, sammen med alle de andre vognene i Egypt, med offiserer over alle sammen.

8 Herren gjorde farao, kongen av Egypt, bestemt, slik at han forfulgte israelittene, som marsjerte ut med løftet hode.

Egypterne forfulgte dem med alle faraos hester og vogner, hans ryttere og tropper, og tok dem igjen der de lå i leir ved havet, nær Pi-Hakirot, rett overfor Ba'al-Sefon.

10 Da farao nærmet seg, så israelittene opp og så egypterne marsjere etter dem, og de ble livredde og ropte til Herren.

11 De sa til Moses: "Var det fordi det ikke var graver i Egypt at du har ført oss ut i ørkenen for å dø? Hva har du gjort mot oss ved å føre oss ut av Egypt?
