2. Krønikebok 6,8

David

6 men Jeg har valgt Jerusalem for at Mitt navn skal være der, og Jeg har valgt David til å være over Mitt folk Israel.'

7 Det var i min far Davids hjerte å bygge et hus for Herrens navn, Israels Gud.

Men Herren sa til min far David, 'Fordi det var i ditt hjerte å bygge et hus for Mitt navn, gjorde du vel i å ha dette ønsket i ditt hjerte.

9 Men du skal ikke bygge huset, men din sønn som skal fødes til deg, han skal bygge huset for Mitt navn.'

10 Nå har Herren oppfylt sitt ord som Han talte; for jeg har reist meg i stedet for min far David og sitter på Israels trone, som Herren lovet, og jeg har bygget huset for Herrens navn, Israels Gud.
