13 Mikal tok husguden og la den i sengen, la et teppe av geitehår ved hodet, og dekket det med klær.

14 Da Saul sendte bud for å gripe David, sa hun: “Han er syk.”

Da sendte Saul budene for å se David, og sa: “Bring ham opp til meg i sengen, så jeg kan drepe ham.”

16 Da budene kom inn, se, husguden var i sengen med teppet av geitehår ved hodet.

17 Så sa Saul til Mikal: “Hvorfor har du bedratt meg slik og latt min fiende gå, så han har sluppet unna?” Og Mikal sa til Saul: “Han sa til meg, ‘La meg gå! Hvorfor skulle jeg drepe deg?’”
