1 Dinah, datteren til Lea, som hun hadde født til Jakob, gikk ut for å besøke landets døtre.

Da Sikem, sønn av Hamor hevitten, landets fyrste, så henne, tok han henne og lå med henne og krenket henne.

3 Hans hjerte ble dratt mot Dinah, Jakobs datter, og han elsket den unge kvinnen og talte vennlig til henne.

4 Så sa Sikem til sin far Hamor: "Få meg denne unge kvinnen til kone."
