26 Laban sa: «Det er ikke vår skikk her å gi den yngre datteren i ekteskap før den eldste.
27 Fullfør denne brudeuken, så skal vi gi deg den andre også, i bytte mot ytterligere syv års arbeid.»
Jakob gjorde det. Han fullførte uken med Lea, og så ga Laban ham sin datter Rakel som hans kone.
29 Laban ga sin tjenestepike Bilha til sin datter Rakel som hennes tjenestepike.
30 Jakob var også med Rakel, og han elsket Rakel mer enn Lea. Han arbeidet for Laban ytterligere syv år.
