Hele jorden hadde nå ett språk og de samme ordene.

2 Da de reiste østover, oppdaget de en slette i landet Sinear og slo seg ned der.

3 De sa til hverandre: “Kom, la oss lage murstein og brenne dem grundig.” De brukte murstein i stedet for stein, og bek til mørtel.
