3 Judas sønner var:
Er, Onan og Sela.
Disse tre ble født til ham av Bat-sjua, kanaaneeren.
Er, Judas førstefødte, var ond i Herrens øyne, så Han drepte ham.

Tamar, Judas svigerdatter, fødte Peres og Serah.
Juda hadde fem sønner til sammen.

5 Peres var far til to sønner:
Hesron og Hamul.

6 Serahs sønner var:
Simri, Etan, Heman, Kalkol og Dara—fem i alt.
