13 De hadde også ansvar for bærerne og førte tilsyn med alle arbeiderne fra jobb til jobb; og noen av levittene var skrivere, tjenestemenn og portvoktere.
14 Mens de tok ut pengene som var blitt brakt inn i Herrens hus, oppdaget presten Hilkia lovboken som Herren hadde gitt ved Moses.
Hilkia henvendte seg til Sjafan, skriveren, "Jeg har funnet lovboken i Herrens hus." Og Hilkia overleverte boken til Sjafan.
16 Da brakte Sjafan boken til kongen og formidlet ytterligere informasjon til kongen og sa, "Alt som ble pålagt dine tjenere, gjør de.
17 De har også tømt ut pengene som ble funnet i Herrens hus, og har overlevert det til tilsynsmennene og arbeiderne."
