4 Han befalte også folket som bodde i Jerusalem å gi den delen som tilkom prestene og levittene, slik at de kunne vie seg til Herrens lov.
5 Så snart ordren spredte seg, ga Israels barn rikelig av førstegrøden av sitt korn, nye vin, olje, honning, og av all markens grøde, og de brakte inn rikelig tienden av alt.

7 De begynte å samle haugene i den tredje måneden og fullførte dem i den sjuende måneden.
