Dom og rettferdig straff

13 da skal dere vite for visst at Herren deres Gud ikke lenger vil drive ut disse nasjonene foran dere. I stedet vil de bli snarer og feller for dere, piskeslag på deres sider og torner i deres øyne, inntil dere går til grunne fra dette gode landet som Herren deres Gud har gitt dere.

14 "Nå er jeg i ferd med å gå den veien som hele jorden går, og dere vet med hele deres hjerte og sjel at ikke én av alle de gode løftene som Herren deres Gud har gitt dere har slått feil. Hvert løfte har blitt oppfylt; ikke ett har slått feil.

Men akkurat som alle de gode tingene Herren deres Gud lovet dere har kommet over dere, slik vil Herren bringe over dere alle de onde tingene Han har advart om, inntil Han har ødelagt dere fra dette gode landet som Herren deres Gud har gitt dere.

16 Hvis dere bryter Herrens deres Guds pakt, som Han befalte dere, og går og tjener andre guder og bøyer dere ned for dem, da vil Herrens vrede brenne mot dere, og dere vil raskt gå til grunne fra det gode landet Han har gitt dere."
