12 Dets adelige skal ikke ha noe der som kan kalles et kongerike, og alle dets fyrster skal forsvinne.
13 Torner skal overgro dens festninger, nesler og tistler dens festningsverk; det skal bli en tilholdssted for sjakaler, en bolig for strutser.
Ørkenens skapninger skal møte hyener, og ville geiter skal rope til hverandre; der skal også nattfuglen slå seg ned og finne seg et hvilested.
15 Treslangen skal lage sitt rede der og legge egg, og klekke dem, og samle dem under sin skygge; der skal også haukene samle seg, hver med sin make.
16 Søk i Herrens bok, og les: Ikke én av disse skal mangle, ingen skal savne sin make. For Hans munn har befalt, og Hans Ånd har samlet dem.
