11 Da Johanan, sønn av Kareah, og alle hærførerne som var med ham, hørte om alt det onde Ismael, sønn av Netanja, hadde gjort,
12 tok de med seg alle sine menn og dro for å kjempe mot Ismael, sønn av Netanja. De fant ham ved den store dammen i Gibeon.
Da alle menneskene med Ismael så Johanan, sønn av Kareah, og hærførerne som var med ham, ble de overglade.
14 Alle menneskene som Ismael hadde tatt til fange fra Mispa, vendte seg og gikk over til Johanan, sønn av Kareah.
15 Men Ismael, sønn av Netanja, klarte å rømme fra Johanan med åtte menn og flyktet til ammonittene.
