Jeremia 38,25

23 "Alle dine koner og barn skal bli ført ut til kaldeerne. Du selv skal ikke slippe unna deres hender, men skal bli tatt til fange av kongen av Babylon; og denne byen skal bli brent ned."

24 Da sa Sidkia til Jeremias: "Ikke la noen få vite om denne samtalen, ellers kan du være i fare.

Hvis lederne hører at jeg har snakket med deg og kommer til deg og sier: 'Fortell oss hva du sa til kongen og hva kongen sa til deg; skjul det ikke for oss, ellers dreper vi deg,'

26 så si til dem: 'Jeg ba kongen om ikke å sende meg tilbake til Jonatans hus for å dø der.'"

27 Alle lederne kom til Jeremias og spurte ham, og han svarte dem i samsvar med alle disse ordene som kongen hadde befalt. Så sluttet de å snakke med ham, for ingen hadde overhørt samtalen.
