3 Samson svarte dem: "Denne gangen skal jeg være uten skyld når jeg gjør skade på filisterne."
4 Så gikk Samson og fanget tre hundre rever, og tok fakler, bandt revene hale til hale i par og satte en fakkel mellom hvert par haler.
Han satte fyr på faklene og slapp revene løs i filisternes stående korn, og brente både kornbåndene og det stående kornet, samt vingårdene og olivenlundene.
6 Da filisterne spurte: "Hvem har gjort dette?" fikk de vite, "Samson, svigersønnen til timniten, fordi hans kone ble gitt til hans følgesvenn." Så dro filisterne opp og brente henne og hennes far med ild.
7 Samson sa til dem: "Siden dere har handlet på denne måten, vil jeg ikke slutte før jeg har tatt hevn over dere."
