4 Når jubelåret for israelittene kommer, vil deres arv bli lagt til stammen de gifter seg inn i, og deres eiendom vil bli trukket fra vår forfedres stamme sin arv.”
5 Moses formidlet da Herrens befaling til israelittene og sa: “Josefs etterkommeres stamme har rett i sine påstander.
Dette er hva Herren befaler angående Selofhads døtre: De kan gifte seg med hvem de vil, forutsatt at de gifter seg innenfor sin fars stammefamilie.
7 Dermed skal ingen arv i Israel overføres fra stamme til stamme, for hver israelitt skal beholde arven til sin forfedres stamme.
8 Hver datter som arver land i noen israelittisk stamme må gifte seg med noen fra sin fars stammefamilie, slik at hver israelitt kan beholde arven til sine forfedre.
