13 Hvis han trekker seg tilbake til en by, skal hele Israel bringe tau til den byen, og vi skal dra den ned i dalen, så ikke engang en stein blir funnet der."
14 Da sa Absalom og alle Israels menn: "Rådet fra Husjai, arkitten, er bedre enn rådet fra Akitofel." For Herren hadde bestemt å beseire det gode rådet fra Akitofel, for at Herren skulle bringe ulykke over Absalom.
Da sa Husjai til Sadok og Abjatar, prestene: "Akitofel rådet Absalom og Israels eldste slik, men jeg rådet dem annerledes.
16 Send nå derfor raskt og fortell David og si: 'Ikke tilbring natten ved vadestedene i ørkenen, men gå over for enhver pris, ellers vil kongen og hele folket med ham bli oppslukt.'"
17 Nå oppholdt Jonatan og Ahimaas seg ved En-Rogel, og en tjenestepike ville gå og fortelle dem, og de ville gå og informere kong David, for de kunne ikke risikere å bli sett når de gikk inn i byen.
