33 Og David sa til ham, "Hvis du passerer over med meg, vil du være en byrde for meg.
34 Men hvis du vender tilbake til byen og sier til Absalom, 'Jeg vil være din tjener, o konge; slik jeg har vært din fars tjener tidligere, så nå vil jeg være din tjener,' da kan du motvirke Ahitofels råd for meg.
Vil ikke Sadok og Abjatar prestene være med deg der? Så hva enn du hører fra kongens hus, skal du rapportere til Sadok og Abjatar prestene.
36 Se, deres to sønner er der med dem, Ahimaas, sønn av Sadok, og Jonatan, sønn av Abjatar; og gjennom dem skal du sende til meg alt du hører."
37 Så Hushai, Davids venn, gikk inn i byen akkurat da Absalom ankom Jerusalem.
