42 Da tok farao sin signetring fra sin finger og satte den på Josefs finger. Han kledde ham i klær av fint lin og prydet ham med en gullkjede rundt halsen.

43 Han lot ham kjøre i sin andre vogn, og folk ropte foran ham: "Bøy kne!" Slik satte han ham over hele landet Egypt.

Så erklærte farao til Josef: "Jeg er farao, men uten ditt samtykke skal ingen gjøre noe i hele Egypt."

45 Farao ga Josef navnet Zafenat-Paneah og ga ham Asenat, datter av Potifera, prest i On, til kone. Og Josef reiste gjennom hele landet Egypt.

46 Josef var tretti år gammel da han begynte å tjene farao, kongen av Egypt. Og Josef gikk ut fra faraos nærvær og reiste gjennom hele Egypt.
