62 Da ofret kongen, sammen med hele Israel, ofre for Herren.

63 Salomo ofret for fredsofferet, som han ofret til Herren, tjueto tusen okser og hundre og tjue tusen sauer. Så innviet kongen og alle Israels barn Herrens hus.

Samme dag innviet kongen midten av forgården som var foran Herrens hus, fordi der ofret han brennofferet, matofferet og fettet av fredsofferet; for bronsealteret som var foran Herren var for lite til å romme brennofferet, matofferet og fettet av fredsofferet.

65 Så holdt Salomo festen på den tiden, og hele Israel med ham, en stor forsamling fra inngangen til Hamat til Egyptens bekk, foran Herren vår Gud, i syv dager og ytterligere syv dager, fjorten dager i alt.

66 På den åttende dagen sendte han folket bort, og de velsignet kongen. Så gikk de til sine telt glade og med lykkelige hjerter på grunn av all den godhet som Herren hadde vist David Sin tjener, og Sitt folk Israel.
