30 Herren ga også den byen og dens konge i Israels hånd. Josva slo det med sverdet, uten å etterlate noen overlevende, og han gjorde med kongen som han hadde gjort med kongen av Jeriko.
31 Så dro Josva og hele Israel med ham videre fra Libna til Lakisj, tok opp stillinger mot det, og angrep det.
Herren overgav Lakisj til Israel, og Josva inntok det på den andre dagen. Han slo det med sverdet, slik han hadde gjort med Libna.
33 I mellomtiden kom Horam, kongen av Geser, opp for å hjelpe Lakisj, men Josva beseiret ham og hans hær, uten å etterlate noen overlevende.
34 Så dro Josva og hele Israel med ham videre fra Lakisj til Eglon, tok opp stillinger mot det, og angrep det.
