32 Stå nå opp om natten, du og folket som er med deg, og ligg i bakhold på marken.
33 Om morgenen, ved soloppgang, gå mot byen. Når han og folket som er med ham kommer ut mot deg, gjør med dem hva du kan."
Så sto Abimelek og hele folket med ham opp om natten og tok opp skjulte posisjoner nær Sikem i fire grupper.
35 Nå gikk Gaal, sønn av Ebed, ut og sto ved inngangen til byporten, akkurat da Abimelek og folket med ham reiste seg fra bakholdet.
