29 Hvis bare dette folket var under min kommando! Da ville jeg kvitte meg med ham." Og han sa til Abimelek: "Forstørr hæren din og kom ut!"
30 Da Sebul, lederen av byen, hørte hva Gaal, sønn av Ebed, sa, ble han veldig sint.
I hemmelighet sendte han budbringere til Abimelek og sa: "Gaal, sønn av Ebed, og hans slektninger har kommet til Sikem og oppvigler byen mot deg.
32 Stå nå opp om natten, du og folket som er med deg, og ligg i bakhold på marken.
33 Om morgenen, ved soloppgang, gå mot byen. Når han og folket som er med ham kommer ut mot deg, gjør med dem hva du kan."
