21 Herren, Israels Gud, overgav Sihon og hele hans folk i Israels hender, og de beseiret dem. Israel tok i besittelse hele landet til amorittene som bodde i den regionen.
22 De erobret hele området fra Arnon til Jabbok og fra ørkenen til Jordan.
Nå som Herren, Israels Gud, har drevet amorittene ut foran sitt folk Israel, skulle dere da ta det i besittelse?
24 Eier ikke dere det som Kamosj, deres gud, gir dere? På samme måte vil vi eie det som Herren vår Gud har gitt oss.
25 Er du bedre enn Balak, Sippors sønn, kongen av Moab? Har han noen gang stridt mot Israel eller ført krig mot dem?
