15 da skal jentas far og mor bringe bevis på jentas jomfruelighet til de eldste ved byporten.
16 Jentas far skal si til de eldste: "Jeg ga min datter til denne mannen som kone, men han har vendt seg mot henne.
Nå har han anklaget henne og sagt: ‘Jeg fant ikke din datter å være jomfru.’ Men her er beviset på min datters jomfruelighet." Så skal de vise kluten for byens eldste,
18 og de eldste skal ta affære mot mannen og disiplinere ham.
19 De skal bøtelegge ham med hundre sekel sølv og gi dem til jentas far, fordi denne mannen har baktalt en israelsk jomfru. Hun skal forbli hans kone; han må ikke skille seg fra henne så lenge han lever.
