2 "Gi israelittene beskjed om å gi levittene byer å bo i fra arven av deres eiendommer. Gi dem også beitemarker rundt disse byene.
3 Disse byene skal være til dem å bo i, og beitemarkene skal være til deres kveg, deres utstyr og alle deres andre dyr.
"Beitemarkene rundt byene som dere gir til levittene skal strekke seg ut tusen alen fra bymuren.
5 Mål to tusen alen utenfor byen på øst-, sør-, vest- og nordsiden, med byen i midten. Dette området skal tjene som beitemark for byene.
6 "Av byene dere gir til levittene, utpek seks som tilfluktsbyer, hvor noen som har begått drap kan flykte. I tillegg skal dere gi førtito andre byer.
