17 Da sang Israel med glede: «Spring opp, o brønn! La oss synge til den!
18 Brønnen, som lederne gravde, som folkets fornemme hullete ut med septer og staver.» Deretter dro de fra ørkenen til Mattana,
fra Mattana reiste de til Nahaliel, og fra Nahaliel dro de til Bamot,
20 og fra Bamot til dalen i Moabs land, på toppen av Pisga, som ser ut over ødemarken.
21 Israel sendte sendebud til Sihon, amorittenes konge, og sa:
