15 Hilkia henvendte seg til Sjafan, skriveren, "Jeg har funnet lovboken i Herrens hus." Og Hilkia overleverte boken til Sjafan.
16 Da brakte Sjafan boken til kongen og formidlet ytterligere informasjon til kongen og sa, "Alt som ble pålagt dine tjenere, gjør de.
De har også tømt ut pengene som ble funnet i Herrens hus, og har overlevert det til tilsynsmennene og arbeiderne."
18 Videre informerte Sjafan, skriveren, kongen og sa, "Hilkia, presten, ga meg en bok." Og Sjafan leste fra den i kongens nærvær.
19 Da kongen hørte lovens ord, rev han sine klær.
