1. Samuelsbok 9,14
12 De svarte og sa: "Ja, han er rett foran deg. Skynd deg nå, for i dag har han kommet til byen, fordi folket ofrer på det høye stedet.
13 Så snart du kommer inn i byen, vil du finne ham før han går opp til det høye stedet for å spise, for folket vil ikke spise før han kommer. Han må velsigne offeret; etterpå vil de inviterte spise. Gå opp nå, for du vil finne ham med en gang."
Så de gikk opp til byen. Da de kom inn, se, Samuel kom ut mot dem for å gå opp til det høye stedet.
15 Nå hadde Herren åpenbart for Samuel dagen før Saul kom, og sagt:
16 "I morgen på denne tiden vil jeg sende deg en mann fra Benjamins land, og du skal salve ham til fyrste over mitt folk Israel. Han skal befri mitt folk fra filisternes hånd, for jeg har sett til mitt folk, fordi deres rop har nådd meg."
