14 Men nå skal ditt kongedømme ikke bestå. Herren har søkt seg en mann etter sitt eget hjerte, og Herren har utpekt ham til hersker over sitt folk, fordi du ikke har holdt det Herren befalte deg."

15 Da reiste Samuel seg og dro opp fra Gilgal til Gibea i Benjamin. Og Saul talte opp folket som var med ham, omkring seks hundre menn.

Nå var Saul og hans sønn Jonatan og folket som var med dem i Gibea i Benjamin, mens filistrene slo leir i Mikmas.

17 Og røvere kom ut fra filistrenes leir i tre flokker: en flokk vendte seg mot Ofra, til landet Sual;

18 en annen flokk vendte seg mot Bet-horon; og en annen flokk vendte seg mot grensen som vender mot Seboim-dalen, mot ødemarken.
