14 Manasses sønner var:
Asriel, som hans arameiske medhustru fødte;
hun fødte Makir, far til Gilead.
15 Makir tok en kone for Sjuppim og Huppim,
og deres søster het Maaka.
Den andre het Selofhad,
og Selofhad hadde døtre.
Maaka, Makirs kone, fødte en sønn,
som hun kalte Peresj;
og hans bror var Sjeresj.
Hans sønner var:
Ulam og Rekem.
17 Ulams sønn var Bedan.
Disse var etterkommerne av Gilead, sønn av Makir, sønn av Manasse.
18 Hammoleket, hans søster, ble mor til:
Isjhod, Abieser og Mahla.
