5 Og kong Salomo og hele Israels menighet, som var samlet hos ham, var med ham foran arken, og ofret så mange sauer og okser at de ikke kunne telles eller regnes.
6 Da satte prestene Herrens paktsark på dens plass, i husets innerste rom, i Det Aller Helligste, under kjerubenes vinger.

8 Men stengene var så lange at endene av stengene kunne ses fra det hellige stedet foran det innerste rommet, men de kunne ikke ses utenfor; de er der til denne dag.
9 Det var ingenting i arken unntatt de to steintavlene som Moses la der ved Horeb, der Herren inngikk en pakt med Israels barn da de kom ut av landet Egypt.
