42 Mens han fortsatt talte, kom Jonatan, sønn av Abjatar, presten, inn. Og Adonja sa, “Kom inn, for du er en verdig mann og bringer sikkert gode nyheter.”
43 Men Jonatan svarte Adonja og sa, “Nei! Vår herre kong David har gjort Salomo til konge.
Og kongen har sendt med ham Sadok, presten, Natan, profeten, Benaja, sønn av Jojada, kreterne og peletittene, og de har latt ham ri på kongens muldyr.
45 Og Sadok, presten, og Natan, profeten, har salvet ham til konge i Gihon, og de har kommet opp derfra med jubel, slik at byen er i et oppstyr. Dette er lyden du har hørt.
46 Videre sitter Salomo nå på rikets trone.
